What is a good name for a guild in World of Warcraft?
Even if you don’t play the game, I’d like some suggestions for a guild name (basically a group)
I’m trying to make it slightly evil sounding, though heroic at the same time.
So far i’ve had this in mind:
Champions of the Scourge
Scourge Annihilation
what is a better word besides “Champions”? They’re evil, so i don’t know if champion is very dark.. lol
Important notes about guild names: Spell it *right*, and capitalize it consistently. All-lowercase guild names look tacky, and misspelled guild names look *really* bad. Finally, when planning a guild name, they can be up to 24 characters in length.
You can use a single-word name that uses a word that implies strength, particularly one with darker overtones or connotations, though I would avoid words that are in use in-game as Realm or Battlegroup names. You can’t really avoid *all* words used by in-game abilities, simply because there are so many in-game abilities. Some one-word names I can think of that might fit your concept, though some might be a bit cliché:

Multi-word guild names including the word “Scourge” usually imply the undead. “Champions” does sound somewhat heroic without dark overtones, and “Champions of the Scourge” sounds like people working with the Scourge, who are the primary enemies of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
Thinking of a storyline or concept behind the guild, even for non-RP guilds, helps to have some cohesion. Some good multi-word names I can think of while trying to avoid the common guild name clichés (”Dark”/”Darkness”, “Shadow/s”, “Wolf”/”Wolfpack”, “Death”/”Deadly”):
