warcraft books online
What should I learn before I want to get into game programming?
This is sort of an edit to my last question
I want to get into game programming. (online video game i.e. world of warcraft, runescape, etc)
What’s the VERY first thing I should learn, then moving on, etc. etc.
I bought a book on C++ but I feel like I should learn something before this.
Any ideas?

C++ only works for online games that people download and run. It’s simpler to learn the basics of it then Java which would be the other choice, but it’s way harder to master. C++ with DirectX or OpenGL allows you to write faster games and it is a must for 3D gaming.
If you really want to jump into gaming fast, then you should learn python. Then pygame and numpy. This will be sufficient for making most 2D games. Also pick up books on math, making sure to know algebra, trigonometry, calculus, linear algebra and logic.
