warcraft addons curse

Im having problems with addons for world of warcraft, they arent working??

I download them from curse.com and i think im doing everything right by extracting files and putting them into the addons file but for some reason when i go on wow there is no addons button on the bottom left screen. am i doing something wrong?

I forget but I think in your WoW folder there is an Interface folder and you create the Addons folder inside of that. If not, it’s the other way around, Addons -> Interface. You have to do this first.

Once you do that, then you don’t drag and drop files into the newly created folder, you drag drop the whole zipped directory. You should have no dangling files, just more directories.

The files should be neatly tucked into each addons specific folder then. Now when you login you should have the Addons button and be able to turn on/off which addons you’re using. Note most addons need to be modified while you’re in game.
