in world of warcraft, what is the difference between gnome engineering and goblin engineering??

Think of Goblin Engineering as things that blow up and do direct damage like bombs/mines , and Gnomish Engineering as things that use ingenuity to assist you such as Cloaking Devices and Spell-Reflect trinkets.

Gnomish is probably more useful overall but Goblin Engineering gives you access to the teletransporters located in the Goblin towns like Gadgetzan, Everlook and Area 52, actually pretty useful for getting about.
