What does DPS mean on World of Warcraft?

and how do you quit a guild? Frustrated with these constantly rude people who dont want to just play and have fun.
Damage per second. But how does that apply when you are looking for a group? example: dps lfg for DM
I cant figure out what that means. Damage per second looking for group for Dead Mines?

As others have said, to quit a guild, type /gquit unless you are the guild leader. If you are the guild leader, you’ll need to promote someone else who is online to leader before you /gquit. To completely disband a guild you are the leader of, type /gdisband.

DPS literally means “damage per second”, but when a person says they “are DPS”, or “dps lfg”, they mean that their character is a damage-dealer as opposed to a tank or healer. DPS classes are: hunter, mage, warlock, rogue; DPS specs of hybrid classes are: shadow priest, arms or fury warrior, enhancement or elemental shaman, balance or feral druid, retribution paladin. Death knights of any spec can be DPS.
