casting bar warcraft

World of Warcraft: My mage has the Ley Staff but can’t wield it.?
When I’m in combat, I cant’ wield the weapon, even tho it’s in my action bar. All I can do is cast spells. She used to be able to attack with it, but something happened and now it won’t activate. It’s a two-handed weapon. I can’t but it in my backpack and re-equip it, but it won’t respond to wielding.
first off to answer other people mages have staves to begin with no training needed.
secondly you can equip and switch out weapons while in combat but only weapons, not armor or trinkets.
third, the attack icon will be whatever weapon you are using (for example for wands the shoot icon will be whatever wand you have equipped, same as whatever sword dagger mace or staff you’re using)
now to answer your question: if you open your character page what do you see in the weapon slots? if you see something in your offhand (one of your weapon slots) then you cant use a staff because that is a two handed weapon as you’ve already said. take the offhand out of that slot and put it in your bags and re-equip the staff.
good luck
Priest PvP Guide – How To Play Your Priest Effectively In WoW PvP
I have decided to write this priest PvP guide after grouping in arena with several priests that were really clueless. Priests can be very effective in PvP, but for that they really need to make use of all their abilities. In this article I will explain the role of a priest in PvP and I will show how they can increase their efficiency to bring a solid contribution for winning every battle, in the World of Warcraft arena or battlegrounds.
The basics of playing a priest as a PvP class
In this part of my little priest PvP guide I will put into view the characteristics of the priest’s gameplay as a PvPer. First, you need to understand that the priest is a support class. No matter what spec, in my opinion, the priest cannot substitute the heavy damage that a mage or a hunter can do. In any PvP situation, this class must focus supporting the team by healing or by weakening the opposite team members, and only then on dealing damage. Any priest must understand the importance of their dispel and mana burn. These are maybe the most important abilities they have and they must be used at maximum potential. If the priest is specialized on shadow, the Silence spell is another important thing to be used. Another important spell that the priests must use very wisely, is the fear. In PvE, this spell usually “sleeps” in the quick bar, but in PvP things are much different. A mass fear at the right time can bring victory in any battle. These are the most important things that a priest should know for PvP. My priest PvP guide will continue describing the importance of the priest in battlegrounds.
The effectiveness of a priest in PvP battlegrounds
The second step of this priest PvP guide focuses on the role of the priest in PvP battlegrounds. As I said, priests are a support class. They can be present in the attack or the defense of any battleground objective, supporting their team mates with heals, buffs and weakening the attackers, by draining their mana, preventing them from casting spells and crowd control. In the battlegrounds based on capturing flags, priests don’t make such good flag carriers because they don’t have any speed increase abilities, but they sure are excellent protectors of the flag carriers. A priest’s role in this situation is to swipe the enemies from the flag carrier’s tail, heal him and help him to reach the base safely. In most of the cases, the attackers go for the one that runs with the flag and priests can easily heal without any trouble and if they attack the priest, the flag carrier may escape, so, just a priests presence in the defence of a flag runner is very important. This priest PvP guide will continue revealing the importance of a priest in arena.
The effectiveness of a priest in PvP arena
The first thing to know for arena as a priest is that you are usually the main target of the opposite team, being a “clothie”. Therefore, as a priest you should aim for PvP equipment with a lot of resilience, to be able to resist as much as possible. A few days ago I’ve been playing a few matches with a priest that had about 950 resilience and he still was pretty “squishy”. As in other battle situations, for arena a priest must “abuse” the mana drain, silence or fear. Also, when the opposite team’s paladin uses his bubble, the priest must be prepared to dispel it right away. On the shadow spec, the priest is still not the main damage dealer, his damage still is a support damage for the other DPSers in the team. In my opinion, a shadow priest goes very well teamed up with a warlock, improving the warlocks damage a lot.
My conclusion for this priest PvP guide I must say that no matter what kind of PvP you’re aiming for, your role as a priest is to support the team with all you have, leaving the damage to the heavy DPSers. You need to use your crowd control wisely and come in the help of the damage dealers with your damage spells only if needed.
